EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Council’s application for funding to implement the Crime Prevention Strategy was unsuccessful.
That the information be received and noted |
REPORT DETAIL
As previously reported to the Committee Council applied to the NSW Justice Department for funding to implement the Crime Prevention Plan.
Advice has now been received that the application was unsuccessful.
As there are no funds allocated within Council’s budget the implementation will be delayed.
Some measures (such as printing of flyers) may be undertaken from existing budgets but will only be on a small scale.

There have been several incidents recently of robberies in the Hurstville CBD area and concerns have been raised by some residents.
The police representative will provide an update to the Committee on the investigations into these incidents.
