MAC008-10 REPORT ON LIBRARY COLLECTION AND USAGE (10/470)

MAC009-10 GENERAL BUSINESS (10/470)
1. David Linden distributed hard copies of the Multicultural Access Action Plan which included the amendments suggested at the last meeting. The Plan will be reviewed again at the last meeting of the year.

2. Mohinder Singh distributed copies of fliers promoting an Open Day at the Revesby Gurdwara Sahib to celebrate the Birth of Khalsa and spoke about the event which is open to all members of the community to learn about the Sikh History

3. David Linden advised the Committee that on 31 March Community Services staff represented Hurstville Council at the St George Services Forum for the Chinese speaking community hosted by the Federal Member for Banks Daryl Melham MP. The purpose of the day was to provide information to the community members on services available from Government and non-government agencies

4. Councillor Wong reported on his recent trip to China as part of Council's Sister City delegation and of some of the benefits that he saw would follow as a result of the visit.

MAC010-10 COUNCIL OPEN DAY (SF09/31)
Committee's Recommendation

THAT the next Open Day (in May/June 2010) be held for members of the Italian community and an Open Day for members of the Chinese community be held together with an Open Day for members of another community in the 2010-11 financial year.



The meeting finished at 5.40 pm.
