THAT Council Officers write to the RTA School Crossing Supervisor Program Co-Ordinator requesting the placement of a crossing supervisor at this location. COMMITTEE'S RECOMMENDATION:

THAT Council Officers undertake the following actions to improve safety at the intersection of Dora Street and Pearl Street, Hurstville: a. ‘Stop’ signs and linemarking to be installed on Pearl Street at the intersection of Dora Street. b. Statutory “No Stopping” restrictions to be installed for a distance of 10m from the intersection on all arms. c. A ‘Bus Zone’ to be installed at the existing bus stop on Dora Street near its intersection with Pearl Street. THAT Council Officers undertake the following actions to improve safety at the intersection of Dora Street and Timothy Street, Hurstville: a. ‘Stop’ signs and linemarking to be installed on Timothy Street at the intersection of Dora Street. b. Double barrier lines to be installed on Timothy Street at its intersection with Dora Street for a distance of 15m. c. Statutory “No Stopping” restrictions to be installed for a distance of 10m from the intersection on all arms. THAT all affected residents to be notified of Council’s decision. FURTHER THAT Ms. Aphrodite Papas be notified of Council’s decision.

THAT Council approve the Remembrance Day Service to be held at Memorial Square, Hurstville pursuant to s139A Roads Act (1993). THAT Council note that the Hurstville RSL will be holding its Remembrance Day Service at the War Memorial in Hurstville Memorial Square on Friday 11th November 2005 commencing at 10:55am. THAT Council Officers write to the RTA informing them of the its Remembrance Day Service at the War Memorial in Hurstville Memorial Square on Friday 11th November 2005 commencing at 10:55am. THAT Mr. John Burke, HCC’s Civil Infrastructure Manager be requested to organise the barricades for the Remembrance Day Service. COMMITTEE'S RECOMMENDATION:

THAT Council approve the temporary closure of Bannerman Street, Mortdale Heights on Saturday 17th December 2005 between 2pm and midnight pursuant to s5 Roads (General) Regulation 2000. THAT the Applicant submit an Application for Road Occupancy to the RTA’s Traffic Management Centre for approval. THAT the Applicant inform all emergency services of the temporary road closure prior to the event. THAT the Applicant maintain access for emergency services during the event at all times. THAT Council waive the fees of $200 associated with the temporary road closure. THAT Ms. Young be informed of Council’s decision. FURTHER THAT details of their Public Liability be checked and Council be advised at the next meeting.

COMMITTEE'S RECOMMENDATION:

THAT Council approve the temporary closure of Dalcassia Street, Hurstville (between Dora Street and the Salvation Army driveway) on Saturday 3rd December 2005 between 8am and 1pm pursuant to s5 Roads (General) Regulation 2000. THAT Council approve the Hurstville Salvation Army Fair to be held on Dalcassia Street, Hurstville pursuant to s139A Roads Act (1993). THAT Council approve the erection of stalls and entertainment on Dalcassia Street, Hurstville for the Hurstville Salvation Army Fair pursuant to s144 Roads Act 1993. THAT the Applicant prepare a Application for Road Occupancy, Traffic Management Plan and Traffic Control Plan to submit to the RTA’s Traffic Management Centre for approval. THAT all affected residents, bus services, taxi companies and emergency services be notified by the Applicant of the road closure seven (7) days prior to the event. THAT the Applicant advertise the road closure in local newspapers seven (7) days prior to the event. THAT Council waive the fees of $200 associated with the temporary road closure. THAT Captain Greenaway be informed of Council’s decision. FURTHER THAT details of their Public Liability be checked and Council be advised at the next meeting.

Insufficient off-street parking has been provided with 3 parking spaces and a drop off & pick up area that can accommodate 2 vehicles (Council requires 6 parking spaces to be supplied for this development). b. Parking space dimensions comply with Council requirements. c. On-site drop-off / pick up areas adequately provided. d. Locations of access / egress points are adequate. e. Driveway widths comply Council requirements. f. Pedestrian access ramp from pick-up/drop-off area meets Council’s requirements. g. Proposed Development will generate an additional 52 vehicular trips per day on Victoria Avenue, Mortdale (a collector road).
