TAC018-20       Cross Street, Hurstville - Raised Pedestrian Crossing

(Report by Senior Traffic Engineer)

For: NSW Police, RMS and Local State Member Representative (Kogarah). Against: Councillor Badalati

Recommendation

(a)       That a raised pedestrian crossing in Cross Street near the intersection of Crofts Avenue, Hurstville be approved.

(b)       That the final detailed design of the raised pedestrian crossing be sent to RMS for review and approval prior to construction.

 

TAC019-20       Chemical CleanOut Event - Traffic Control Plans for Carlton and Mortdale Depot

(Report by Senior Traffic Engineer)

Recommendation

(a)       That the Traffic Control Plans TCP 2536 and TCP 2537 prepared for the Chemical CleanOut weekends at the Mortdale Depot and Carlton Depot be approved to be implemented on all the Chemical CleanOut  weekends planned for 2020.

 

(b)       That “No Right Turn” signs be installed on Depot Road, Mortdale during the Chemical CleanOut weekends in Mortdale Depot

 

(c)       That the “No Stopping” restriction along the northern side of Roberts Avenue be extended to allow unhindered flow of traffic between Isaac Street and Depot Road, Mortdale during Chemical CleanOut weekends at Mortdale Depot.

 

(d)       That “No Stopping” restrictions be installed along the southern side of Planthurst Road, west of Bellevue Parade to the southern gate entrance of the Carlton Depot, during Chemical CleanOut weekends at Carlton Depot. 

 

(e)       That Council’s Waste Services section notify all affected residents of the traffic changes prior to the scheduled Chemical CleanOut weekends at Council’s Depots.

 

 

TAC020-20       Littleton Street, Riverwood - Club Rivers ANZAC Day Service 2020

(Report by Senior Traffic Engineer)

Recommendation

(a)       That Club Rivers request to close Littleton Street, Riverwood between Belmore Road and Erskine Street, Riverwood from 4.00am to 12.00pm for ANZAC day Dawn Service on Saturday the 25th of April 2020 be approved.

 

(b)       That Club Rivers sub branch liaise with NSW Police in regards to the need for a Risk Assessment for Hostile Vehicle Mitigation to be carried out by an appropriately qualified person holding a Masters 2A Security License prior to the closures occurring.

 

 

TAC021-20       Bridge Street, Penshurst - Road Closure for Penshurst RSL Sub Branch ANZAC Day Services 2020.

(Report by Senior Traffic Engineer)

Recommendation

(a)       That the request from Penshurst RSL sub branch to temporarily close Bridge Street between Apsley Street and Penshurst Street from 12:30 pm to 3.30pm on Sunday the 19th April 2020 be approved.

 

(b)       That the request from Penshurst RSL sub branch to temporarily close part of Connelly Street between Forest Road and Bridge Street from 12:30 pm to 3.30pm on Sunday 19th April  2020 be approved.

 

(c)       That Penshurst RSL sub branch liaise with NSW Police in regards to the need for a Risk Assessment for Hostile Vehicle Mitigation to be carried out by an appropriately qualified person holding a Masters 2A Security License prior to the closures occurring.

 

(d)       That Council’s Staff barricade 14 car parking spaces directly outside the Memorial on Bridge Street, at least 24 hours prior to the march to ensure that the spaces are vacant for the service on 19th April 2020.    

 

 

TAC022-20       Park Road and The Avenue Hurstville - Danebank Autumn Fair 2020

Recommendation

That the request for temporary changes to on-street parking along Park Road and The Avenue, Hurstville, adjoining Danebank School, on Saturday 9th May 2020 to facilitate the School’s Autumn Fair be approved.

 

 

TAC023-20       Mortdale CBD Streetscape Works

Recommendation

(a)     That the attached plans for the Mortdale Streetscape Works be approved.

(b)     That a detailed sign plan be issued to the RMS for approval.

 

 

TAC024-20       Car Share Trial - GoGet

(Report by Senior Project Officer)

Recommendation

(a)       That the Traffic Committee receive and note the 10 proposed locations in Kogarah and Hurstville as identified in the attached proposal submitted by GoGet for the car share trial.

(b)       That the traffic committee authorise the changes to the regulatory signs in the 10 specified areas as to only accommodate GoGet Car share vehicles for the duration of the trial.

 

 

TAC025-20       Riverwood and Penshurst - Proposed Changes to "No Parking" Zone

Recommendation

(a)     That the existing 8m “No Parking, 5am – 9am Council Vehicles Excepted” zone on the western side of Belmore Road, Riverwood be converted to “No Parking, 5am – 6am Council Vehicles Excepted” as shown on plan TC2061 attached to the report.

(b)     That the existing 10m “No Parking, 5am – 9am Council Vehicles Excepted” zone on the southern side of Bridge Street, Penshurst be converted to “No Parking, 5am – 6am Council Vehicles Excepted” as shown on plan TC2060 attached to the report.

 

 

TAC026-20       Dora Street, Hurstville - Proposed "Bus Zone"

Recommendation

That a 28m “Bus Zone” be installed on the western side of Dora Street, adjacent to No. 55, as shown on plan TC2059 attached to the report.

 

TAC027-20       Hurstville Road, Oatley - Proposed "Bus Zone"

Recommendation

That a 23m “Bus Zone, 2.30pm – 4pm School Days” be installed on the southern side of Hurstville Road, Oatley as shown on plan TC2062 attached to the report.

 

 

TAC028-20       Connells Point Road, South Hurstville - Request to formalise existing Bus Stop (222196)

Recommendation

That a 20m “Bus Zone” be installed on the eastern side of Connells Point Road, South Hurstville, adjacent to No. 98, as shown on plan TC2066 attached to the report.

 

 

TAC029-20       Connells Point Road, Connells Point - Request to formalise existing Bus Stop (2221132)

Recommendation

(a)     That a 20m “Bus Zone” be installed on the northern side of Connells Point Road, Connells Point adjacent to No.117, as shown on plan TC2068 attached to the report.

(b)     That a statutory 10m ‘’No Stopping’’ sign be installed on the southern side of Rowe Street as shown on plan TC2068 attached to the report.

(c)     The existing Australia post box will be relocated after liaising with the Operations and Equipment Support Team from Australia Post.

 

 

TAC030-20       Resthaven Road, Connells Point - Request to formalise existing Bus Stop (222198).

Recommendation

That an 18m “Bus Zone” be installed on the eastern side of Resthaven Road, adjacent to No. 20, as shown on plan TC2067 attached to the report.

 

 

TAC031-20       Bellevue Parade Allawah - Request for Bus Zone for St George Christian School

Recommendation

THAT a 30m “Bus Zone 8.00am-9.30am, 2.30pm-4.00pm School Days” be installed along Bellevue Parade, north of Church Lane, Allawah for St George Christian School

 

 

 

 

 

TAC032-20       Kingsway, Kingsgrove - Proposed Line Marking Removal

(Report by Traffic Engineer)

Recommendation

(a)     That 20m of the existing BB centreline on Kingsway, Kingsgrove, be removed as shown on the plan TC2065 attached to the report.

(b)     That the “No Stopping” signage be relocated as per the plan TC2065 attached to the report.

 

 

TAC033-20       Samuel Street, Peakhurst - Proposed Line Marking Removal

Recommendation

That 3m of the existing BB Centreline of Samuel Street, Peakhurst, be removed as shown on the plan TC2063 attached to the report.

 

 

TAC034-20       Anglo Square, Carlton - Proposed "No Stopping" zone

(Report by Traffic Engineer)

Recommendation

(a)     That a 75m “No Stopping” zone be installed along the southern side of Anglo Square, Carlton as per the plan TC2051 attached the report.

(b)     That a 10m “No Stopping” zone be installed on the northern side of Anglo Square, near to the intersection of Westbourne Street, Carlton.

 

 

TAC035-20       Short Street, Oatley - Proposed "Disabled Parking Only" zone extension

Recommendation

That the existing “Disabled Parking Only” zone on the western side of Short Street, Oatley, be extended by 7m as shown on the plan TC2069 attached to the report.

 

 

TAC036-20       Wright Street, Hurstville - Proposed ''Disabled Only'' Parking Zone

(Report by Traffic Engineer)

Recommendation

That a 7.8m “Disabled Parking Only” zone with an associated kerb ramp be installed adjacent to Hurstville Community Garden entrance in Wright Street, Hurstville as shown on plan TC2064 attached to the report.

 

TAC037-20       Woids Avenue, Allawah- Proposed ''Work Zone''

(Report by Traffic Engineer)

Recommendation

(a)     That 25 metres of the existing “No Parking, 8.00am – 6pm and 2.30pm-4pm School days” zone on the southern side of Woids Avenue, adjacent to No. 69 Woids Avenue, be converted to “Works Zone’’, 7am – 5pm, Mon – Sat” for a period of 45 weeks commencing in March 2020.

(b)     That the request for a 5m ‘’Work zone’’ to be installed adjacent to No. 47 Woids Avenue commencing in March 2020 as shown in plan TC2058, be denied.

(c)     That the parking be returned to its current status at the completion of the “Works Zone” period.

 

 

TAC038-20       Woids Avenue, Allawah - St George Christian School-Proposed Pick-up and Drop-off zone

Recommendation

(a)     That a 48 metre ‘’No Parking 8.00am – 9.30am, 2.30pm - 4.00pm School Days” be installed along the southern side of Woids Avenue, Allawah.

(b)     That the parking restrictions as shown in the attached plan TC2069 be approved for installation in Woids Avenue, Allawah.

 

 

TAC039-20       Connells Point Road, Connells Point - Proposed ''No Stopping'' zone.

(Report by Traffic Engineer)

Recommendation

That the request for a 5 metre “No Stopping” zone to be installed on the eastern side of Connells Point Road, Connells Point, adjacent to No. 156 Connells Point Rd, as shown on plan TC2057 attached to the report, be denied.

 

   

General Business

 

·           Isaac Street, Peakhurst Heights – Raised crossing proposal – Report to be presented to a future Traffic Committee meeting

·           Victoria Avenue, Penshurst – Line marking to be repainted following road resheet.

·           Intersection of Grove Avenue and Hurstville Road, Hurstville Grove – Recent traffic counts indicate no speed issue. No changes required.

·           Intersection of Broad Arrow Road / Hurst Place / Mercury Street, Narwee – Council officers to conduct site inspection and any required changes to be brought to a future Traffic Committee meeting for consideration.

·           Mortdale Carpark – Request for Motor Cycle Parking to be brought to a future Traffic Committee meeting for consideration.

·           Intersection of Hurstville Road and Rosa Street, Oatley – Council to carry out survey and potential redesign for roundabout to increase deflection.

·           Lorraine Street, Peakhurst – Line marking changes between Stanley Street and Isaac Street to be presented at April Traffic Committee meeting.

·           Intersections of King Georges Road / Blakesley Road and Princes Highway / West Street – Locations nominated for Blackspot funding, awaiting endorsement by RMS of proposals. “Left Only” out of Harold Fraser Oval driveway to be investigated.

·           Allen Street, South Hurstville – “No Stopping” request to be brought to April Traffic Committee meeting.

·           Lowana Place, Beverly Hills – Request for “No Parking” zone changes not supported.

·           Park Road near Princes Highway, Carlton – “No Stopping” request to be investigated and consultation carried out.

·           Intersection of Kingsgrove Road and Paterson Avenue, Kingsgrove – Chris Minns’ office to write to Bayside Council requesting the investigation of parking restrictions on the eastern side of Kingsgrove Road opposite Paterson Avenue to improve traffic flow.
