As you are aware, the Cricket Australia JLT One-Day Cup was held at Hurstville Oval on Friday 6 October, Sunday 8 October, Tuesday 10 October and Friday 13 October 2017.
The four (4) matches provided the community an opportunity to watch world class cricket, at a local Council owned and operated facility, free of charge. On the opening day, over 1,100 spectators attended the Oval as well as over 144,000 who watched the match via the live-stream app.
The condition of the wicket and surrounds was acclaimed by Cricket Australia, Cricket NSW, players and match officials with the Australian squad coaches and selectors. Due to the consistent playing conditions at Hurstville Oval, the JLT Sheffield Shield 2017-2018 Round 2 (NSW vs WA) will be played at this Council facility on 4 November 2017 commencing at 10:30am. This is a great achievement for Council and the community.
