TAC001-20       Bonds Road, Riverwood - Proposed Pedestrian Refuge

(Report by Traffic Engineer)

Recommendation

That a pedestrian refuge with “No Stopping” signs be constructed on Bonds Road, Riverwood near the intersection of Romilly Street, as shown on plan U796 attached to the report.

 

 

 

 

TAC002-20       Monterra Avenue, Peakhurst Heights - Proposed Concrete Island

(Report by Coordinator Traffic & Transport)

Recommendation

That the design for the concrete island on Monterra Avenue, on approach to the pedestrian crossing at Pindari Road, Peakhurst Heights as shown on plan U738 attached to the report be approved.

 

 

TAC003-20       Netstrata Jubilee Stadium - NRL Traffic Management 2020

(Report by Coordinator Traffic & Transport)

Recommendation

(a)     That approval be granted for roads near Netstrata Jubilee Stadium, Kogarah to be closed for the National Rugby League (NRL) matches during the 2020 season.

(b)     That Traffic Logistics submit a Traffic Management Plan and associated Traffic Control Plans for the road closures to the NSW Police and Council for approval prior to the first game occurring.

(c)     That Traffic Logistics apply for the RMS Road Occupancy Licence for each NRL game at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium in the 2020 season.

(d)     The applicant shall provide a Risk Assessment for Hostile Vehicle Mitigation in accordance with NSW Police requirements by an appropriately qualified person holding a Masters 2A Security License prior to the closures occurring.

(e)     That Traffic Logistics be advised of Council’s decision.

 

 

TAC004-20       Littleton Street, Riverwood - Community Street Fair

(Report by Senior Traffic Engineer)

Recommendation

That approval be granted the for the road closure of Littleton Street, between Belmore Road and Erskine Street, Riverwood on Saturday the 14th March 2020 to facilitate the annual Community Street Fair organised by Club Rivers.

 

 

TAC005-20       Resthaven Road, Connells Point - Proposed "No Stopping" extension

Recommendation

That a 23m “No Stopping” zone be installed on the northern and southern side of Resthaven Road, Connells Point as shown on plan TC2041 attached to the report.

 

 

TAC006-20       Angus Avenue, Peakhurst - Proposed ''No Stopping'' zone extension

Recommendation

That a 23m “No Stopping” zone be installed on the western side of Angus Avenue and a 20m ‘’No Stopping’’ zone be installed on the eastern side of Angus Avenue, Peakhurst as shown on plan TC2043 attached to the report.

 

 

TAC007-20       Cronin Avenue, Penshurst - "No Stopping" zone extension

Recommendation

That a 16m “No Stopping” zone be installed on the northern side of Cronin Avenue and a 20m ‘’No Stopping’’ zone be installed on the southern side of Cronin Avenue, Penshurst as shown on plan TC2046 attached to the report.

 

 

TAC008-20       Ferry Avenue, Beverley Park - Proposed ''No Stopping" zones

Recommendation

(a)       That the existing “No Parking” zone from 22-24 Ferry Avenue, Beverley Park be converted to a ‘’No Stopping’’ zone as shown on the plan TC2052(1) attached to this report.

(b)       That a ‘’No Stopping’’ zone be installed on the eastern side of Ferry Avenue, Beverley Park from 13 Ferry Avenue to the intersection at Stubbs Street as shown on the plan TC2052(2) attached to the report.

 

 

TAC009-20       Mi Mi Street, Oatley - Proposed ''No Parking'' zone

Recommendation

That a 25m “No Parking” zone be installed on the eastern side of Mi Mi Street, Oatley adjacent to houses 85 – 87a as shown on plan TC2042 attached to the report.

 

 

TAC010-20       Henry Road, Riverwood - Proposed "No Stopping" zones

(Report by Coordinator Traffic & Transport)

Recommendation

That “No Stopping” signs be installed at the intersection of Henry Road and Lillian Road, Riverwood, as shown on plan TC2053 attached to the report.

 

 

TAC011-20       Water Street, Sans Souci - Proposed "No Parking, Authorised Vehicles Excepted" zone

(Report by Traffic Engineer)

Recommendation

(a)     That a 25m “No Parking, Authorised Vehicles Excepted, Area SS1” zone be installed on the southern side of Water Street, Sans Souci, as shown on the plan TC2055 attached to the report for a period of 6 months.

(b)     That Council provide parking permits to the Marine Centre at 2 Water Street.

(c)     That the parking be returned to its current status at the completion of the construction period.

 

 

 

 

TAC012-20       Kogarah CBD - Proposed "No Parking, Australia Post Vehicles Excepted" zones

(Report by Traffic Engineer)

Recommendation

(a)     That a 6m “No Parking, 8am-5pm, Mon-Fri, Australian Post Vehicles Excepted” zone be installed on the southern side of Kensington Street, Kogarah, as shown on the plan TC2056 attached to this report.

(b)     That a 6m “No Parking, 9.30am-3.30pm, Mon-Fri, Australian Post Vehicles Excepted” zone be installed on the western side of Gray Street, Kogarah, as shown on the plan TC2056 (2) attached to this report.

 

 

TAC013-20       Premier Street, Kogarah - Proposed "Works Zone" at 31 Regent Street

(Report by Traffic Engineer)

Recommendation

(a)     That 20 metres of the existing “2P, 8.30am – 6pm, Mon-Fri, 8.30am – 12.30pm, Sat” zone on the western side of Premier Street, adjacent to No. 31 Regent Street, be converted to “Works Zone, 7am – 5pm, Mon – Sat” for a period of 10 weeks commencing in March 2020.

(b)     That the parking be returned to its current status at the completion of the “Works Zone” period.

 

 

TAC014-20       12 - 24 Stanley Street, Kogarah - ''Works Zone''

(Report by Traffic Engineer)

Recommendation

(a)     That a 61m “Works Zone, 7am – 5pm, Mon – Sat” be installed on the southern side of Stanley Street, Kogarah adjacent to No.’s 12 – 24 for a period of 40 weeks commencing in January 2020.

(b)     That the parking be returned to its current status at the completion of the “Works Zone” period.

 

 

TAC015-20       2 - 6 Allen Street, South Hurstville - Proposed ''Work Zone''

(Report by Traffic Engineer)

Recommendation

(a)     That a 32m “Works Zone” be installed on the northern side of Allen Street, South Hurstville adjacent to No.’s 2 - 6, for a period of 34 weeks commencing in January 2020, as shown on plan TC2049 attached to the report.

(b)     That nearing the completion of the “Works Zone” period, the parking signs on the northern side of Allen Street be investigated and a report brought to a future Traffic Committee meeting.

 

 

 

 

 

TAC016-20       Roberts Lane, Allawah - Proposed "Disabled Parking" zone

(Report by Traffic Engineer)

Recommendation

That a 7.8m “Disabled Parking Only” zone be installed adjacent to Allawah station entrance in Roberts Lane as shown on the plan TC2044 attached to the report.

 

 

TAC017-20       Lloyd Street, Oatley- Proposed ''Bus Zone''

(Report by Traffic Engineer)

Recommendation

That a 20m “Bus Zone, 7am – 6pm, Mon - Sat” be installed on the southern side of Lloyd Street, Oatley adjacent to No. 47, as shown on plan TC2050 attached to the report.

 

   

General Business

 

·           Isaac Street, Penshurst – Request for raised crossing at school – Consultation to be undertaken.

·           Penshurst West Public School – Council currently in discussions with school and road safety resources have been distributed.  School construction almost complete and Police requested to carry out enforcement.

·           Cook Street, Mortdale – Parking issues, residents to be consulted on a proposal.

·           Mulga Road, Oatley – Loading Zone, no changes to be made at this stage.

·           Burgess Street, Beverley Park – Traffic count outcome.  Speed counts did not warrant changes.

·           Mortdale CBD Streetscape upgrade – Present report to March Traffic Committee meeting

·           Acacia Road, Oatley – Paved parking bays not supported.

·           Rowe Street, Connells Point – Intersection at Connells Point Road, no traffic calming devices appropriate due to turning movements.

·           Gray Street, Kogarah – Bus Zone relocation, Council to contact Transport for NSW initially.  Consultation to be undertaken pending outcome from TfNSW.

·           Mortdale One-Way Bridge – No changes at this stage.

·           Park Road, Kogarah Bay – Parking restrictions to be investigated near light shop.

·           Weemala Avenue, Riverwood – No action to be taken, speed counts did not warrant changes.

·           Carwar Avenue, Carss Park – Request for landscaped island – Council to write to business owners requesting delivery drivers to cease u-turns at intersection.  NSW Police requested to carry out enforcement. Landscape island not approved at this stage.

·           Universal Street, Mortdale – Speed data to be sent to NSW Police for enforcement.

·           Commercial Road, Kingsgrove – Council to contact Bayside Council about load restriction and RMS to investigate intersection upgrade at Kingsgrove Road.

Conclusion

The Meeting finished at 11.25am.
