RECOMMENDATION

That the Minutes of the Traffic Advisory Committee Meeting held on 15 August 2017 , as previously made available to each Councillor, be adopted.

(Report by Traffic Engineer)

Recommendation

That curve and speed advisory signs be installed in Truman Street and Rickard Road, South Hurstville as shown on plan TC1616 attached to the report.

 

 

TAC105-17       Forest Road north of Park Road, Peakhurst - Road Safety Concerns

(Report by Senior Traffic Engineer)

Recommendation

a)   THAT kerb parking be line marked to narrow the carriageway to 3.2m on Forest Road between Park Street and Hannons Avenue to act as visual traffic calming.

b)   THAT the signs W1-3 and W8-2 “Curve ahead” and “advisory speed (25km/h)” signs be installed on both approaches to the bend along Forest Road, Peakhurst.

 

 

TAC106-17       Percival Street, Penshurst - Proposed Signage for Angle Parking

(Report by Traffic Engineer)

Recommendation

(a)     That a “Disabled Parking” and “No Stopping” zone be installed on the southern side of Percival Street, west of King Georges Road.

(b)     That a 10m and 30m “No Stopping” zone be installed on the northern side of Percival Street, west of King Georges Road, as shown on plan U581 attached to the report.

 

 

TAC107-17       Carwar Avenue, Carss Park - Proposed Temporary Road Closures for the Magic of Christmas Event

(Report by Traffic Engineer)

Recommendation

(a)     That approval be granted for the closure of Allawah Avenue and part road closure of Carwar Avenue, Carss Park, between 4pm and 9pm on Saturday, 9 December 2017 for Council’s “Magic of Christmas” event to be held at Carss Bush Park, as shown on plans TCP 1 and TCP 2 attached to the report.

 

 

TAC108-17       Westbourne Street, Carlton - Proposed "P10 Minute" Parking

Recommendation

(a)     That a 13m “No Stopping” zone be installed on the western side of Westbourne Street, north of the Princes Highway.

(b)     That a 38m “P10 Minute, 7am – 9am, 4pm – 6pm, Mon – Fri” zone be installed on the western side of Westbourne Street, adjacent to No. 297 Princes Highway, as shown on plan TC1617 attached to the report.

 

 

TAC109-17       St Elmo Parade, Kingsgrove - Proposed changes to school pick-up and drop-off zone

Recommendation

a)    That a 12m “No Parking, 2.30pm – 4pm, School Days” zone be installed on the eastern side of St Elmo Parade, Kingsgrove adjacent to number 2A.

b)    That the existing 18m “No Parking, 8am-9.30am, 2.30pm-4pm, School Days” zone on the western side of St Elmo Parade, Kingsgrove be retained.

Recommendation

That a 30m “Bus Zone” be installed on the southern side of King Street, South Hurstville, as shown on the plan TC1614 attached to the report.

 

 

TAC111-17       Proposed Roundabout at the intersection of Francis Street and Colvin Avenue, Carlton

Recommendation

That the proposed design to install a roundabout at the intersection of Francis Street and Colvin Avenue, Carlton as per plan number U522 attached to the report be approved.

 

 

TAC112-17       Baker Street Oatley - Road Safety Concerns

(Report by Senior Traffic Engineer)

Recommendation

a)    That the request for the installation of a concrete island at the intersection of Lansdowne Parade and Baker Street, be denied.

b)    That rumble bars be installed on the existing centreline of Lansdowne Parade at the intersection with Baker Street to improve vehicle turning movements.

 

 

TAC113-17       930 Forest Road, Peakhurst - Request to Formalise Bus Stop

(Report by Traffic Engineer)

Recommendation

(a)     That the existing bus stop at 930 Forest Road, Peakhurst be changed to a 33 metre ‘Bus Zone’ extending across the frontages of 928, 930 and 932 Forest Road, Peakhurst as per the attached plan.

(b)     That Mr David Coleman, MP, Member for Banks be advised of Council’s decision.

(c)     Further that Punchbowl Buses be advised of Council’s decision.

 

 

TAC114-17       Lugarno Parade Lugarno - Installation of Bus Zone

(Report by Senior Traffic Engineer)

Recommendation

a)    a)     That a 20m “Bus Zone” be installed outside number 31 Lugarno Parade, Lugarno to formalise the existing Bus Stop at that location.

b)    That a 20m “Bus Zone” be installed outside number 36 Lugarno Parade, Lugarno to formalise the existing Bus Stop at that location.

c)    That the above mentioned “Bus Zones” be brought up to DDA standards.

d)    That the adjacent residents be notified of Council’s decision.

 

 

TAC115-17       Illawong Street, Lugarno - Installation of STOP restriction

Recommendation

a)   That a “STOP” restriction be installed in Illawong Street south of Boronia Parade, Lugarno.

b)   That the Statutory “No Stopping” restriction be installed at all four approaches to the intersection.

 

 

TAC116-17       Rose Street, Hurstville - Road Safety Concerns

(Report by Senior Traffic Engineer)

Recommendation

That no changes be made to the current traffic arrangements in Rose Street near the entrance to the Westfield’s car park.

 

 

TAC117-17       Belgrave Street, Kogarah - Proposed Temporary Road Closure

(Report by Traffic Engineer)

Recommendation

(a)     That approval be granted to temporarily close Belgrave Street, Kogarah from Post Office Lane to Kensington Street, between 6am and 3pm on Sunday, 24 September 2017 for the Ladies Auxiliary of the Greek Orthodox Church Annual Fete, as shown on plan TC1122 attached to the report.

(b)     That the Ladies Auxiliary of the Greek Orthodox Church be advised of Council’s decision.

 

 

TAC118-17       View Street and Brittany Place Peakhurst Heights - Intersection linemarking

(Report by Senior Traffic Engineer)

Recommendation

That centre line marking and lane marking be installed as per attached drawing along the junction of View Street, Brittany Place and Lorraine Street, Peakhurst to channel traffic through the intersection.

 

 

TAC119-17       Melvin Street, Beverly Hills - Request for Traffic Calming Device

(Report by Traffic Engineer)

Recommendation

(a)     That the request to install a pedestrian refuge at the intersection of Melvin Street and Edgbaston Road (southern leg), Beverly Hills be denied.

(b)     That the existing BB centreline at the intersection of Melvin Street and Edgbaston Road (southern leg), Beverly Hills be modified to include eight (8) 300mm Rumble Bars as shown on the attached plan.

(c)     Further that Mr Mark Coure, MP, Member for Oatley be advised of Council’s decision.

 

 

TAC120-17       Depot Road, Mortdale - Request for a Works Zone

(Report by Traffic Engineer)

Recommendation

a)    That a 40 metre “Works Zone, 7am – 5pm, Mon – Fri” be installed adjacent to 3 Depot Road, Mortdale for a duration of eight (8) weeks, provided that the applicant pay the necessary fees and charges in accordance with Council’s adopted Fees and Charges for 2017 – 18.

b)    Further that the applicant be advised of Council’s decision.
