a)        That the Minutes of the Traffic Advisory Committee Meeting held on 19 July 2016 be confirmed.

TAC025-16       Holley Road, Beverly Hills - Road Safety Concerns

(Report by Senior Traffic Engineer, Shereny Selim)

Committee Recommendation

a)      That the Roads and Maritime Services be requested to install a “ Do Not Queue Across Intersection” signs on the northern side and southern side of Stoney Creek Road (on approach side) at its intersection with Holley Road, Beverly Hills.

 

b)      That the statutory No Stopping restriction be increased  to 15 metres in Holley Road, south of Stoney Creek Road, Beverly Hills.

 

c)      That the resident be advised of Council’s decision.

 

 

TAC026-16       Bonds Road and Broadarrow Road Intersection - Request for a Pedestrian Crossing

Committee Recommendation

a)     That the request to install a pedestrian crossing near the intersection of Bonds Road and Broadarrow Road, Riverwood be denied as the subject site does not meet the required RMS warrants.

b)     That MR David Coleman, MP, Member for Banks be advised of Council’s decision.

 

 

TAC027-16       St George Community Transport - Request for Designated Parking Areas

Committee Recommendation

a)      That the request for designated parking by St George Community Transport Services for their vehicles be denied due to the very high demand for parking in Hurstville CBD.

b)      That St George Community Transport Services be advised of Council’s decision.

 

 

TAC028-16       Universal Street - Request for Bus Zone

Committee Recommendation

a)      That a 15m long Bus Zone be installed on the southern side of Universal Street, Mortdale adjacent to the statutory No Stopping restriction on Universal Street east of The Strand, Mortdale.

TAC029-16       Belmore Road, Riverwood - Request for Painting "Do Not Queue Across Intersection" on Carriageway

a)      That the request to paint “KEEP CLEAR” pavement markings on Belmore Road at its intersection with Morotai Avenue, Riverwood be denied.

b)      That Mr Jihad Dib, MP, Member for Lakemba be advised of Council’s decision.

a)        That the request to install a Resident Parking Scheme in Bridge Street, Penshurst be denied.

b)        That Mr Mark Coure, MP, Member for Oatley be advised of Council’s decision.

 

 

TAC031-16       Safety, Productivity & Environment Construction Transport Scheme (SPECTS) - Request for Council Participation

Committee Recommendation

a)        That the presentation on SPECTS by the RMS be received and noted, and further discussions take place with RMS and Jeff Roora & Associates for preferred outcomes for the Georges River Local Government Area.

 

 

TAC032-16       Clarendon Road, Peakhurst - Road Safety Concerns

Committee Recommendation

a)            That the existing 10 metre No Stopping restriction outside 165 Belmore Road, Peakhurst be extended by 18 metres (up to existing power pole).

 

 

TAC033-16       Roberts Avenue, Mortdale - Request for a Pedestrian Crossing

Committee Recommendation

a)      That the design for the proposed pedestrian refuge island on Roberts Avenue between the access driveway of Mortdale Plaza and Deport Road, Mortdale be approved.

 

 

TAC034-16       Georges River College - Request to Formalise existing Bus Stops and to install a No Parking Zone

Committee Recommendation

a)      That a 50 metre ‘Bus Zone, 8am – 9:30am and 2:30pm – 4pm School Days’ be installed at the existing bus stop on Samuel Street, Peakhurst (adjacent to Georges River College)

b)      That a 20 metre ‘Bus Zone, 8am – 9:30am and 2:30pm – 4pm School Days’ be installed at the existing bus stop at 2 Coronation Avenue, Peakhurst followed by a statutory 10 metre long No Stopping restriction at the intersection of Samuel Street and Coronation Avenue, Peakhurst.

c)      That a 75-metre long ‘No Parking, 8am – 9:30am and 2:30pm – 4pm School Days’ zone be installed on Rona Street north of the Georges River College car park entrance followed by a statutory 10 metre No Stopping restriction at the intersection of Samuel Street and Rona Street, Peakhurst.

d)      That the request to install bollards on Rona Street, Peakhurst be denied.

e)      That Georges River College Peakhurst Campus P&C President be advised of Council’s decision.

 

TAC035-16       Hurstville CBD - Request to Change Operation Times of Saturday Parking Restrictions

Committee Recommendation

a)        That operation times on Saturdays at all the existing timed parking zones within Hurstville CBD be changed to operate from 8:30am to 4:00pm.

b)        That a public notice be placed in the local newspapers advising of the proposed changes. The revised timed parking restriction be implemented after the public notice period is concluded.

c)         That Council’s Compliance Section be notified of Council’s decision.

 

TAC036-16       Oatley Railway Station Accessibility Upgrade Project - Proposed Traffic Control Plans

a)     That the information in the report be received and noted.

b)     That the applicant be advised of Council’s decision.

 

TAC037-16       Boundary Road, Mortdale - Request to Install Stop Restrictions at Bridge Approaches

Committee Recommendation

a)        That ‘Proceed with Caution’ warning signs be installed on the north and south approaches at the Boundary Road Railway Overpass.

b)        That10 metres of double barrier lines (BB) be installed on Hurstville Road, Oatley.

 

TAC038-16       Planthurst Road, Carlton - Proposed "Loading Zone" - UBD 294 A10

Committee Recommendation

a)        That a 16m “Loading Zone, 7am – 5pm Mon – Fri” zone be installed on the southern side of Planthurst Road, adjacent to number 70, as shown on plan TC1553 attached to the report.

 

TAC039-16       Truman Street, South Hurstville - Proposed "No Stopping" zone extension - UBD 293 K10

Committee Recommendation

a)        That the existing “No Stopping” zone on the eastern side of Truman Street, north of the intersection with William Street, be extended 10m as shown on plan TC1552 attached to the report.

 

TAC040-16       Railway Parade, Hurstville - Proposed Concrete Median Island - UBD 293 N6

(Report by Traffic Engineer, Paul Croft)

Committee Recommendation

a)      That a 15m long Concrete Median Island, 600mm wide with barrier kerb and “Keep Left” signs be installed on Railway Parade, Hurstville adjacent to number 524.

b)      That the existing lane lines adjacent to the proposed median island be ground off and repainted 3.1m from the edge of the median, as shown on plan TC1555 attached to the report.

c)      That a detailed design be submitted to the Roads and Maritime Services prior to construction.

d)      That the applicant for the development be advised of Council’s decision.

e)      That the applicant pays all costs associated with the construction of the concrete median island.

 

TAC041-16       Maher Street, Hurstville - Proposed Parking Restrictions - UBD 293 K8

Committee Recommendation

a)     That the existing “Bus Zone, 8am - 9.30am, 2.30pm – 4pm, School Days” on the southern side of Maher Street be relocated adjacent to the “No Stopping” zone, east of the pedestrian crossing and be replaced with a “P5, 8am – 9.30am, 2.30pm – 4pm, School Days” zone.

b)      That the existing 30m “No Parking, 8am – 9.30am, 2.30pm – 4pm, School Days” zone on the southern side of Maher Street, west of the pedestrian crossing, be extended 6m.

c)      That a 16m “No Stopping” zone be installed across the Hurstville South Public School staff car park driveway, as shown on plan TC1556 attached to the report.

d)      That the Principal of Hurstville South Public School be notified of Council’s decision.
