TAC001-16       Bonds Road Peakhurst - Road Safety Concerns

(Report by Senior Traffic Engineer, Mrs S Selim)

Committee Recommendation

a)      That this matter be referred to the Roads and Maritime Services requesting to consider installing a speed camera within the 40km/h School Zone in Bonds Road, Peakhurst.

b)      That Mr Mark Coure, MP, Member for Oatley be advised of Council’s decision.

 

 

TAC002-16       Barnards Avenue Hurstville - Request to shorten the existing Bus Zone 

(Report by Senior Traffic Engineer, Mrs S Selim)

Committee Recommendation

a)      That the existing 25m long Bus Zone outside 1G Barnards Avenue, Hurstville be shortened to 17m towards the eastern direction.

b)      That the statutory No Stopping restrictions at the south-western corner of the intersection of Smiths Avenue and Barnards Avenue be installed.

c)      That the resident be advised of Council’s decision.

 

TAC003-16       Carrington Avenue Hurstville - Request for Disabled Parking Space

Committee Recommendation

a)      That two disabled parking spaces conforming to AS2890.5-1993 be installed outside Shangri La Nursing Home at 107 Carrington Avenue Hurstville.

b)      That Shangri La Nursing Home be advised of Council’s decision.

 

TAC004-16       Myall Street Oatley - Request for a 15 Minutes Parking Zone

Committee Recommendation

a)      That a 31m (approximately 6 car spaces) long, ‘15 minutes, 8.30am-6.30pm, Mon-Fri, 8.30am-12:30pm Sat’ zone be installed on the eastern side of Myall Street, south of Mulga Road, Oatley.

b)      That Mullan’s Pharmacy be advised of Council’s decision.

 

TAC005-16       Martin Place Mortdale - Request for a 15 Minutes Parking Zone for Mortdale Medical Centre

Committee Recommendation

a)      That 6m of the existing 1P restriction located along the northern side of Martin Place, west of Morts Road, Mortdale be converted to a ‘P15min, 8.30am-6.30pm, Mon-Fri, 8.30am-12:30pm Sat’ zone.

b)      That Mortdale Medical Centre be advised of Council’s decision.

 

TAC006-16       Carlton Railway - RMV Incursions into Station Precinct, Risk Reduction Program, Design Works at High Risk Sites

Committee Recommendation

a)      That the installation of  Omni-Stop bollards as proposed by Sydney Trains along Station Lane, Allawah outside Allawah Railway Station be approved.

b)      That the cost of supply, installation and maintenance of bollards be borne by Sydney Trains.

c)      That Sydney Trains be advised of Council’s decision.

 

TAC007-16       Broad Arrow Road, Beverly Hills - Road Safety Concerns

Committee Recommendation

a)      That the request to install traffic calming devices in Broad Arrow Road, Beverly Hills be denied.

b)      That Mr Mark Coure, MP, Member for Oatley be advised of Council’s decision.

 

TAC008-16       Stanley Street Peakhurst - Request for Kerb Blisters

(Report by Senior Traffic Engineer, Mrs S Selim)

Committee Recommendation

a)      That the request to install kerb blisters in Stanley Street, Peakhurst on both sides of the driveway crossing at 1/9 Stanley Street, Peakhurst be denied.

b)      That the existing driveway crossing 1/9 Stanley Street, Peakhurst be reconstructed by extending the layback to remove the small section of kerb west of the driveway crossing, provided that the business owner bear the cost of reconstruction of the driveway crossing.

c)         That the business owner be advised of Council’s decision.

 

 

TAC009-16       Colin Avenue, Riverwood - Request for a "No Parking" Zone

Committee Recommendation

a)        That the affected residents be consulted proposing to install a No Parking restriction on the western side of Colin Avenue, Riverwood, including the cul-de-sac.

b)        That the results of the public consultation be reported back to the Traffic Committee for consideration.

c)         That the resident be advised of Council’s decision.

 

 

TAC010-16       Kingsway, Kings Place, Westbrook Street and Glenwall Street Beverly Hills - Proposed New Roundabout

Committee Recommendation

a)      That the design for the proposed roundabout at the intersection of Kingsway, Kings Place, Westbrook Street and Glenwall Street, Beverly Hills be approved.

 

 

TAC011-16       Percival Street, Penshurst - Change to On-Street Parking

(Report by Traffic Engineer, Mr B Liddell)

Committee Recommendation:

a)        That the existing on-street parallel parking on Percival Street, Penshurst adjacent to Penshurst Park be changed to 90° angle parking.

b)        That a detailed design for the proposed angle parking zone in Percival Street, Penshurst be referred to RMS for review and approval.

 

 

 

TAC012-16       Connelly Street, Penshurst - Proposed Road Narrowing

Committee Recommendation

a)      That the proposed design to narrow north-western corner of Connelly Street at Bridge Street, Penshurst be approved.

b)      That the proposed design to narrow north-western corner of Connelly Street at Bridge Street, Penshurst be constructed subject to RMS approval.

c)      That the resident be notified of Council’s decision.

 

 

TAC013-16       333-339 Stoney Creek Road, Kingsgrove - Request for a Works Zone

Committee Recommendation

a)      That a 6 metre long Works Zone to operate from 7am-5pm, Monday to Saturday be installed on Donald Street, adjacent to 339 Stoney Creek Road, Kingsgrove for a duration of 12 weeks, provided that the applicant pay the necessary fees and charges in accordance with Council’s adopted Schedule of Fees and Charges for 2016-17.

b)      That the applicant be advised of Council’s decision.

 

 

TAC014-16       Belmore Road, Peakhurst - Proposal to Relocate and Upgrade Existing Pedestrian Crossing

Committee Recommendation

a)      That the existing pedestrian crossing outside 82 Belmore Road, Peakhurst be relocated 15m south and upgraded the crossing to a raised pedestrian crossing (wombat crossing).

b)      That the existing Bus Stop and the associated Bus Zone on the western side of Belmore Road outside Peakhurst West Public School be relocated 10m north of the proposed pedestrian facility.

c)      That a detailed design for the proposed raised pedestrian crossing (wombat crossing) in Belmore Road, Peakhurst be prepared and submitted to the RMS for approval.

d)      That the proposed raised pedestrian crossing (wombat crossing) in Belmore Road, Peakhurst be constructed subject to RMS approval and availability of funding.

e)      That Council consider the installation of a pedestrian fence in Belmore Road along the verge on school side between proposed pedestrian crossing and the school access gate.

f)       That the cost difference between upgrading the existing pedestrian crossing to a wombat crossing and relocating the existing facility 15m south be borne by the property developer of 82 Belmore Road, Peakhurst.

 

 

TAC015-16       Neville Street, Oatley - Proposed Temporary Road Closure - UBD 293 C14

Committee Recommendation

a)         That approval be granted for the closure of a section of Neville Street, Oatley, between Oatley Avenue and Letitia Street, bordered by the boom gates, from 9am until 5pm on Saturday, 5 November 2016, as shown on plan TC1507 attached to the report.

b)         That Oatley Public School’s representative be advised of Council’s decision.

 

TAC016-16       Railway Parade, Penshurst - Proposed Speed Advisory Signs - UBD 293 E6

Committee Recommendation

a)        That chicane and speed advisory signs be installed in Railway Parade near the intersection with Lansdowne Street, Penshurst as shown on plan TC1546 attached to the report.

b)        That a night time street lighting assessment be undertaken along in Railway Parade near the intersection with Lansdowne Street, Penshurst.

 

 

TAC017-16       Frederick Street, Oatley - Proposed Temporary Road Closures - UBD 293 C12

Committee Recommendation

a)         That the part road closure of Frederick Street and Oatley Avenue, Oatley on Saturday 15 October, 2016 for the Oatley Village Festival in accordance with the Festival Stall Plan, attached to the report, be approved.

b)         That a Traffic Management Plan be submitted to the Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) for their approval prior to the festival.

c)         That the Oatley Lions Club of Oatley be advised of Council’s decision.

 

TAC018-16       St Georges Parade, Allawah - Proposed "No Stopping" zone - UBD 293 P8

Committee Recommendation

That a 40m “No Stopping” zone be installed on the eastern side of St Georges Parade along the road cutting, as shown on plan TC1545 attached to the report.

 

TAC019-16       Railway Parade, Mortdale - Proposed Removal of "Bus Zone" and shelter - UBD 293 C8

Committee Recommendation

That the redundant 22m “Bus Zone” and bus shelter on the southern side of Railway Parade, Mortdale opposite the train station, be removed, as shown on plan TC1551 attached to the report.

 

TAC020-16       Illawarra Street, Allawah - Proposed "No Parking" zone - UBD 293 Q8

That a 2.7m “No Parking, Motorcycles Excepted” zone be installed on the eastern side of Illawarra Street, between the driveways of No.’s 14-16 and No. 18 Illawarra Street, Allawah, as shown on the plan TC1359 attached to the report.

 

TAC021-16       Ramsgate Road, Kogarah Bay - Proposed "No Stopping" zone - UBD 294 E13

Committee Recommendation

That a 33m “No Stopping” zone be installed on the southern side of Ramsgate Road, from the existing “Bus Zone” to the edge of the driveway of 19 Ramsgate Road, Kogarah Bay, as shown on the plan TC1540 attached to the report.

 

TAC022-16       Kensington Lane, Kogarah - Proposed extension of "No Stopping" zone - UBD 294 G5

Committee Recommendation

That the current “No Stopping” zone on the western side of Kensington Lane, at the rear of No. 9 Derby Street, Kogarah, be extended 5m south as shown on the plan TC1544 attached to the report.

a)         That a 10m dividing barrier line with yellow Raised Reflective Pavement Markers (RRPM’s) and “Give Way” sign with associated 17.5m holding line be installed in Blake Street, Kogarah at the intersection with Railway Parade, as shown on plan TC1549 attached to the report.

b)         That a 10m dividing barrier line with yellow Raised Reflective Pavement Markers (RRPM’s) and “Give Way” sign with associated 17m holding line be installed in Bowns Road, Kogarah at the intersection with Railway Parade, as shown on plan TC1550 attached to the report.

 

TAC024-16       Chapel Street, Kogarah - Proposed changes to parking arrangements - UBD 294 H6

Committee Recommendation

a)       That the 11, 90° angle parking bays on the eastern side of Chapel Street, Kogarah be removed and converted to parallel parking (6 spaces).

b)      That 7, 90° angle parking bays and associated linemarking be installed on the western side of Chapel Street, Kogarah as shown on the plan TC1547 attached to the report.
